Arduino is an open source electronics platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software. It is intended for artists, designers, hobbyists, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments. We are going to be learning how to utilize the software, modify code, learn basic concepts and make that LED blink! You have to start somewhere and this crash course is where it’s at. Join us as we test our curiosities and put them to work.

Have a favorite shirt and want to spice it up? We are going to be using conductive thread and sewable LEDs to light up your favorite shirt, hat, or any other article of clothing! Be sure to bring the item you would like to experiment on and we will provide you with the kit and all you need to walk away with a fully functioning lit up shirt!

Not sure what to light up? No worries, we will have awesome made at SIMakerSpace gear for sale where each purchase will help grow our non-profit!

Wearable Tech: Get Smart w/ Arduino

Have you ever wanted to have your clothing or wearable gear do more? Now you can! We are going to be learning about the Arduino Microcontroller in a sewable wearable format. Please feel encouraged to purchase your own LilyPad Development Board, it not no worries.

We will provide you one for learning and excite you to take the next steps. We will be able to do everything from sensing light and temperature to utilizing buzzers and a vibrating oscillator. The possibilities are limitless!
